I. Introduction
Under the wave of globalization, the influence of Chinese mass media is increasing, and it plays an important role in shaping global cultural stereotypes. This study aims to explore how Chinese mass media shape global cultural stereotypes, analyze its role and influence in global cultural exchange, and provide theoretical support for optimizing China’s foreign communication strategies.
II. Literature Review
Western scholars’ research on mass media and cultural stereotypes mainly focuses on the shaping of stereotypes of other countries and regions by Western media, while relatively few studies have been conducted on Chinese mass media. Chinese scholars, on the other hand, mainly focus on the role and strategy of Chinese media in international communication, but lack in-depth discussion on cultural stereotypes.
III. Research Methods
This study adopts the content analysis method, comparative research method and case study method. By collecting and analyzing the contents of Chinese mass media reports, comparing the differences between them and mass media in other countries in shaping global cultural stereotypes, and analyzing them with specific cases, the study reveals the role mechanisms and influencing factors of Chinese mass media in shaping global cultural stereotypes.
