VOLLEYBALL COMPETITION IN MEMORY OF VOLODYMYR CHAIKA

On 15 April, in the sports hall of Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, a volleyball competition took place. It was devoted to the memory of Volodymyr Chaika, the mayor of Mykolaiv (2000-2013).

Volodymyr Chaika, the honorable professor of Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, always helped the university management to solve different urgent questions. And that’s not a coincidence that the competition was held at the beginning of spring. Yurii Hranaturov, ex-mayor of the city and the leader of “Our Region (Nash Krai)” mentioned that Volodymyr Dmytrovych liked all kinds of sports and in spring sports life moves out to the street from the gym.

Leonid Klymenko, the principal of the university, opened the competition and remembered that “people’s mayor” participated in the life of the University. Besides this fact, Vladyslav Chaika, the son of Volodymyr Dmytrovych, arrived too. He thanked all the sportsmen for taking part in the competition and he also encouraged their team spirit.

The main referee of the competition, Vasyl Maer, announced the entry list. These were the teams of 2 Universities of the city: Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University and the National University of Shipbuilding, also the teams of “Black Sea Shipyard” and “Zorya Mashproekt”, and guests from Kherson.

The rivalry between teams was very intense. Nobody wanted to lose, and this is for a reason. The prize fund of the competition was the following: 3rd place – 1 000 hrn, 2nd place – 3 000 hrn, and 1st place – 6 000 hrn.

A team from Kherson won. The second place took the team of the plant “Zorya Mashproekt”, the third – the team of “Black Sea Shipyard” and the fourth – Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University, and the fifth – the team of the National University of Shipbuilding.

So let’s congratulate all the participants of the sports competition!
