Traditionally, on the second Saturday of September, all residents of our city celebrate the Day of the City. Different celebrations take place all around our city.
This year a lot of festivities were held at the children’s playset “Fairy Tale (Кazka).” There was a match at the Central Stadium between a team of famous people from Mykolaiv and a team of Ukrainian stage pop stars “Maestro”.
All in all, most of the people came to Soborna Street (the high street of the city). Fairs, presentations and entertainment program from educational establishments were noticed by everyone.
Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University also took part in the celebration. Art and cultural Centre directed by Olena Monakhova and Students’ Board led by Ivan Horbatko have prepared entertainment program for all citizens of Mykolaiv. While Kateryna Akmanova, Anna Mkrtchian, Vladyslav Dranov, Maksym Suprunchuk and Olena Yakovleva demonstrated their vocal talent, the members of Students’ Board spoke with the audience, told about our university and handed information brochures and students’ newspaper “Vagant” around.
The celebration of the Day of the City ended at Soborna Street with an enormously great concert in which famous Ukrainian stars participated.
