The Black Sea National University – is the educational institution with own rights, traditions, and customs.

The 1st of January – New Year.

The 7th of January – Christmas.

The 22nd of January – Ukrainian Unity Day (Den Sobornosti).

The 14th of February  – St. Valentine’s Day.

The 21st of February – International Mother Language Day.

The 8th of March – International Women’s Day.

The 9th of May – Victory Day.

The 19th of May – Science Day.

The 19th of May – Day of Europe.

The 24th of June – Youth Day.

The 27th of July – Sysadmin Day, also known as System Administrator Appreciation Day.

The 24th of August – Independence Day of Ukraine.

The 1st of September – The Day of Knowledge.

The 7th of October – Teacher’s Day.

The 9th of November – Day of the Ukrainian language.

The 19th of November – International Students’ Day.

The 22nd of November – Day of Freedom.

The 10th of December – Human Rights Day.

The 25th of December – Christmas (Catholic).

Besides national holidays we also celebrate:

The 17th of January, 1996 – The Academic Council of the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” made a decision about the foundation of Mykolaiv Affiliate of NaUKMA.  Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University birthday (in 2016 we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the university).

The 3rd of July, 1996 – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision on the establishment of Mykolaiv Affiliate of  NaUKMA.  On this day only graduate convocation (always in gowns) and diplomas delivery ceremony happen.

The 13th of March, 2002 – Petro Mohyla Mykolaiv State Humanitarian University was founded on the basis of Mykolaiv Affiliate of NaUKMA.

The 10th of December, 2008 – According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1521-r Petro Mohyla State Humanitarian University in Mykolaiv was reorganized into Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University.

The 31st of August – Initiation into a studentship (students’ ID cards issuance).

The 15th of October – The revival of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”.

Events and Announcements


Organizing committee of the 1st International Workshop on Information-Communication Technologies & Embedded Systems (ICT&ES-2019) is honored to announce that the event will be held on 14-15 of November, 2019 at Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University.
ICT&ES sets a goal to serve as a platform for publishing research results, sharing findings with other researchers, and development of collaborations between scientists. With active tremendous pace of technologies development, ICT&ES concentrates on development of models and methods in context of modern technologies and concepts
(IoT, SDN, AI, Big Data, Data Mining, Blockchain, etc.).
The program of the workshop also includes master-classes from the experts from the leading IT-companies of Mykolaiv.

Olbian Forum – 2018

PMBSNU is pleased to invite you to participate in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Olbian Forum-2018: Strategies of the Black Sea Region in the Geopolitical Space,” which will take place on June 7-10, 2018 (Koblevo village, Mykolaiv Oblast, Ukraine).
