MAIDAN WOMEN: FILM SHOW AT PETRO MOHYLA BLACK SEA NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

At the support of Fulbright Program on April 11. at the assembly hall of the University, a presentation of movie “Maidan Women” took place. Marta Kolomiiets, the Director of Fulbright Program in Ukraine was at the film show.

The documental movie “Maidan Women” was devoted to the role of the Woman in Dignity Revolution creation, and the future events in Ukraine. The authors the movie (Olha Onyshko and Petro Didula) worked on it during the whole period of Maidan events and after it. The movie was the nominee at Woodstock Film Festival, Culver City Film Festival.

This is the story about the woman face of the Revolution:

“They have not been acquainted, but what united them was love. Love to the son, to soulmate and to the Motherland. Women will honestly tell about the starting point, about the point of irreversibility, about their barricade. The woman who stood shoulder to shoulder with her husband. The girl who fell in love with a simple guy and lost the hero. The woman who became a warrior. The mother, who appeared to be on different sides of the barricade. The very mother, who brought up a conscious son, and brought up the hero. The hero of Heavenly Hundred… Each of them looked into the eyes of death but has found powers to continue to live. Maidan changed their lives forever.”

It’s very difficult to discuss such movies and while watching it the spectators barely held tears back because the topic is connected with all of us. There is much that is already forgotten in three years. But you must not forget that victory cost so many human lives. Everybody could share their impressions after watching this movie.
