On the 1st of October, the International Day for Elderly and Veteran’s Day is celebrated in Ukraine. By tradition, the cultural and artistic center of Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University has prepared a festive concert. The employees of the University and of the Shipbuilding plant named after 61 members of commune have been invited to celebrate this holiday.
The general director of the plant Fedir Petrov has come to congratulate retired workers. Fedir Pavlovych assured that he did his best to preserve the plant and wished everybody strong health and longevity.
The first vice principal of Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Oleksandr Trunov rose to speak too. He addressed the retired workers with the words of gratitude for their job, and also remarked that this holiday was named incorrectly. People of the reverential age – in this way we should call those who has devoted all the life to honest work.
Traditionally, the concert program itself begins with the performance of the folk music group “Verbychenka”, who congratulated the guests with Ukrainian songs. Then, students continued to congratulate all the people, who have come for this event, with dances and songs.
