V scientific reading in the name of Serhii Tarashchuk took place at Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University. The event was devoted to the saving of “Buzkyi Hard”, to the research of ecological situation of the river Southern Buh because of the building up of the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant. They also discussed the developing of regional ecosystems, regional “red lists” of flora and fauna, historical heritage and practical aspects of territories’ ecosystems government.
The leaders of the reading were: National Ecological Centre of Ukraine, Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, National Nature Park “Buzkyi Hard”, Regional Landscape Park “Tylinhulskyi”, National Nature Park “Biloberezhzhia of Sviatoslav.”
Professionals of different branches attended the readings: zoologists, botanists, historians, regional ethnographers, directors of conservation fund objects (both of national and regional levels), lecturers and students.
Scientists from 30 establishments and organizations from all over Ukraine spoke at the conference with their reports. During a fertile work, a very wide circle of questions concerning protection and preservation of nature was discussed. Students of “Ecology” specialty of out University took a very active part in the preparation of scientific reading.
