STRUCTURE OF PETRO MOHYLA BLACK SEA NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

To the present day Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (Petro Mohyla BSNU) has created all the conditions for the development of young specialists of the new generation.

The facilities and resources of the university include 11 buildings combined into a single complex which is a campus. All conditions for comfortable study of students are created. Everything in our university is done for you, for your benefit and convenience.

There is a library in the university with a fund of 110,000 thousand copies, including 15 languages of the world. The library includes a delivery desk and 2 reading rooms with a total of 300 places.

There are an Information and Computer Center and 14 computer classes in the university. Now the university has 500 modern computers. All of them are united in a local network. There is also a wireless Wi-Fi computer network, which currently has over 600 laptops, CPC and other wireless devices of the university staff and students. More than 5 thousand users are registered in the local network. Every employee, student, student of the preparatory department or faculty of the Far-Eastern Higher Education Department has free access to computers and free access to the worldwide Internet. To meet the needs of students, there are two printing and copying points equipped with copying machines, computers, printers and scanners, including a large format color printer for printing large posters.

An Innovative Technology Center has been opened at the university as part of the development of  the UN project program  “Innovative Springboard: Invitation to Cooperate”.

In scientific laboratories, students in practice can get acquainted with the obtained theoretical knowledge.

Medical Center. We hope you will not need it during the study. But if it necessary, students can always get highly qualified assistance. Also there are other important details about which you will be reminded  from time to time and which should not be neglected (vaccination, passage of the X-ray diffraction). The location of the medical center is on the first floor of the first academic building.

The students have at their disposal 3 modern sport halls, 2 gymnasiums and a yacht, on which students regularly go on ecological expeditions.

If you are hungry, there are a student canteen and a cafewhere you can eat, meet with your friends and get the news at a break.

For students from other cities and low-income students there are 3 student hostels at the university. You can find out about the conditions for accommodation and hostel provision at the Student Department of the University.

The scientific works of our and other scientists are the published in the publishing office.

If you, for example, write poetry and want to publish your own book, our university will help you with it.

For those who are not indifferent to the visual arts, there is the Art Gallery, where the best artists exhibit their works, and whose artworks are celebrated at the highest level. International delegations that visit our Gallery highly appreciated its artistic level.

There are International Relations Department and International Cooperation Center at Petro Mohya Black Sea National University.

A Postgraduate Education with 12 specialties will be happy to welcome students who would like to devote their lives to science. Also, the university has five specialized Academic Councils, where 9 scientific specialties are defended.

There is a Student Scientific Society in Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, which publishes the scientific works collection “Student Research Studios”. Students can deepen their professional training in American, Economic, German and other clubs. English and Austrian summer schools take place annually. The Center for English-speaking humanitarian information, created together with the US Peace Corps in Ukraine, and also Student Translation Center.

Students have the opportunity to show their talent for journalism in the printed periodical newspaper Vagant which is published by Petro Mohyla BSNU. Also, students participate in the creation and conducting of the Vagant-TV television program. Since 1998, the Black Sea Stars Art Festival has been held annually. In 1999 students of Petro Mohyla BSNU created a regional club of intellectual games. Since then the championship What? Where? When? and the Brain Ring Championship among student and school teams are regularly held in Mykolaiv.

There are 15 sports sections, including volleyball, basketball, athletics, aerobics, martial arts, scuba diving, sailing and others at Petro Mohyla BSNU. On the university research vessel Olvia students regularly go on environmental expeditions.

Every year, students of Petro Mohyla BSNU successfully attend internships in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Parliament of Canada. In November 2002, according to the results of the Join Multimedia 2002 competition held by Siemens in Munich, the team of the former Petro Mohyla Mykolaiv State Humanitarian University was recognized as the best in Europe and won first place in the nomination “Long Run (16-24)”. The ceremony of 18 winning teams of the European competition “Join Multimedia 2003” awarding took place at September 17, 2003 in Munich. It was attended by Steffen Reiche, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Brandenburg, and Dr. Claus Weyrich, board member of Siemens AG.
