Qualification: Specialist in Information Technologies

Main fields of study for the qualification:

050101 Computer sciences

Level of qualification: Bachelor – First cycle of higher education

 

Official duration of programme: 4 years of education in full-time mode (240 ECTS credits).

Access requirements: Atestat (Secondary school leaving certificate).

The training includes:

  • Core courses: Mathematical and scientific Cycle – 48 ECTS credits, Cycle of professional and practical training – 109 ECTS credits, Cycle of humanitarian and social-economic training – 18 ECTS credits. Optional courses: Mathematical and scientific Cycle – 13,5 ECTS credits, Cycle of professional and practical preparation – 44,5 ECTS credits, Cycle of humanitarian and socio-economic preparation – 7 ECTS credits. Including: Practical Training – 4,5 ECTS credits, Diploma research – 4,5 ECTS credits, Diploma planning – 9 ECTS credits;
  • Theoretical training studies, which provides basic qualification in computer sciences is 105 ECTS credits. Theoretical studies include lectures, laboratories, seminars and practical studies on disciplines. The curriculum envisages 7 academic term papers (7 ECTS credits);
  • Courses, selected higher educational institutions as additional educational services – 48 ECTS credits.

Credits are awarded to a student in case of the successful assessment of the education course (written/oral exams or tests), positive evaluation of academic term papers, and positive evaluation of report of the training/industrial practice.

  • A final state examination includes defense of a bachelor thesis.

Knowledge and understanding:

the detailed Mathematical Preparation of Discrete Mathematics and Structures, Computational Science, Algorithms and Complex­ity, Probability Theory, Decision Theory; Knowledge of Programming Languages and Paradigms, Software Engineering. Operating Systems; Knowledge and Ability to apply the Engineering Environment for Software Engineering: basic knowledge of System Researches, System Simulation, Systems Analysis of Test Subject; basic knowledge of the Computer Engineering (Computer Circuit Design and Computer Architecture, Microsystems, Computer Networks); knowledge of modern theories of Databases Organization and Knowledge and Databases design; base knowledge of Distributed Systems Technologies and Parallel Calculations; base knowledge WEB-technologies

Applying knowledge and understanding:

Bachelor of Computer Science receives training required to work in the IT services of companies and organizations of different sectors and forms of ownership. Bachelor of Computer Science has following abilities: the ability to research; possession of observation methods, description, identification, classification of information objects; ability for analysis and synthesis of scientific, technical, natural-scientific and general scientific information; ability to work in a team; professional knowledge of computer and Information technologies; ability for project activities in informational technologies; knowledge of modern technologies and tools for software development; ability for logical and algorithmic thinking in the development of mathematical and software of information systems. Bachelor of Computer Science can act as systems analyst, a specialist in information technologies, professional development and software testing.

Forming judgments:

logical argumentation; analytical thought; conceptual meaning and theoretical knowledge in information technologies; the ability to use the technologies of diagnostics, estimation and transformation of information objects; the ability to use the research tools for modernization and transformation of information objects; the ability to use professional-profiled knowledge and practical skills in mathematics, physics, informatics and Earth sciences to study information phenomena and processes; the ability to use professional-profiled knowledge and practical skills to solve practical problems in computer sciences.

Artificial Intelligence Systems

 

Qualification: Specialist in Information Technologies

Main fields of study for the qualification:

8.05010104 Artificial Intelligence Systems

Level of qualification: Master – Second cycle of higher education

 

Official duration of programme: In full-time mode 1 year  6 months (108 ECTS credits).

Access requirements: Availability of a bachelor’s degree in Direction 050101 Computer sciences; competitive selection is performed by professional entrance exams.

The training includes:

  • The curriculum consists of Compulsory (mandatory) courses and Optional courses (cycles of subjects elected by Higher Educational Institution and elected by students). Compulsory courses include of Humanities and Socio-Economic training, Fundamental and Natural Scientific training, Professional and Practical training – 54,0 ECTS credits in total. Courses which supply advanced training make 36,0 ECTS credits;
  • Theoretical studying is performed in form of classrooms (lections, laboratory and practical trainings – 23,5 ECTS credits) and independent training (63,5 ECTS credits), course works by the subjects of specialization (3,0 ECTS credits);
  • Practical training includes pedagogical practice (1 week – 1,5 ECTS credits), and pre-diploma practice (4 weeks – 4,5 ECTS credits);
  • The program is concluded with Master Thesis (21,0 ECTS credits).

Description of learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding:

the humanities and social economical subjects; the base of mathematical and natural scientific training in the size needed for successful learning of theoretical and applied problems of system analysis and informatics; profiling and special subjects of professional and practical training for the forming knowledge, abilities, skills and competencies in theoretical and applied aspects of methods and decision making systems.

Applying knowledge and understanding:

the ability to actually use the principles of scientific work, to apply their mathematics, system analysis and Informatics knowledge to solve specific methodological, scientific-practical, industrial, information researches and other tasks; to use modern information technologies and computer equipment for the construction and maintenance of computerized information systems in various branches of science and technology

Forming judgments:

the ability of using professional knowledge and practical skill of mathematics, physics and computer sciences; the ability of making the economical technical and system analysis of innovative projects;     ability to use professional knowledge and practical skills to solve practical problems in the field of “Computer science”.

Level of qualification: Master – Second cycle of higher education

 

Official duration of programme: In full-time mode 1 year 6 months (90 ECTS credits).

Access requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Direction 040303 System Analysis. Competitive selection is performed in the format of professional entrance exams.

The training includes:

  • The curriculum consists of Compulsory (mandatory) courses and Optional courses (cycles of subjects elected by Higher Educational Institution and elected by students). Compulsory courses include cycles of Humanitites and Socio-Economic training, Fundamental and Natural Scientific training, Professional and Practical training –57,5 ECTS credits in total. Courses which supply advanced training make 32,5 ECTS credits;
  • Theoretical studying is performed in form of classrooms (lections, laboratory and practical trainings – 21,75 ECTS credits) and independent training (42,25 ECTS credits), course works by the subjects of specialization (3 ECTS credits);
  • Practical training includes research practice (2 weeks – 2 ECTS credits);
  • The program is concluded with Master Thesis (21 credits ECTS).

Description of learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding:

mathematical methods of system analysis and cybernetics, mathematical modeling methods for the construction and analytical research of optimization, forecasting, optimal control and decision making models; modern methods of developing and optimization the concepts of computer implementation of models of objects and processes of informatization; basic paradigms of design and software modeling languages of computerized systems, methods of planning a software life cycle; methods of detection, formulation, specification, analysis and tracing requirements for computerized systems; methods and tools for maintaining reliability and stability of complex systems; technologies of design and development of intelligent information retrieval, expert, logistics and decision support systems for various subject areas; quality management methods and business process reengineering in accordance to international standards; technologies for web applications and distributed intelligent information systems development; technologies for cross-platform development for mobile devices;

Applying knowledge and understanding:

using modern models, methods and tools of artificial intelligence systems in decision making systems; the ability to create mathematical models of complex processes and algorithms for decision making in terms of design and modeling of decision support systems in various areas; to have appropriative skills of modern technologies for designing software systems using CASE-tools; the ability to determine the optimal variant of computer model implementation concepts during the analysis of requirements at different stages of its life cycle in according to national and international standards; the skills to use technologies and methods of software development for information security in computer systems and networks; to have appropriative skills of applying project management tools.

Forming judgments:

the ability to use professional-profiled knowledge and practical skills in fundamental subjects and system analysis to solve practical problems in the sphere of system science and cybernetics; the ability to use methods of system analysis and theoretical cybernetics for the construction of information models of objects and processes of different nature; the ability to apply national and international standards for organization, planning, control and management of the design, development, post-maintenance and operation of computer systems and networks; the ability to carry out economic, technical and system analysis of innovative projects.

Access to further studies: The right of entry to Doctoral study according to field of study (Third Cycle of Higher Education) based on competitive selection according to typical acceptance rules of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Professional status: work on specialty Systems and Methods of Decision-Making according to the competence of computer systems analyst; teaching and scientific work.
