About Departments

Department of Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies

The direction “Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies” is focused on the automated control system of technological production processes of various industries and high modern technology, the implementation of which is impossible without integration of computer technology at the design stage as well as during operation.

Modern companies need specialists, specialists who possess not only programming languages but well-understood principles of the computers and networks building, and specialists who are able to establish control systems and equipment of a company in general. Professionals with experience in designing, installing, and debugging microprocessor systems, which are required for the electronic device and manufacturing, can find a proper job all around the world. Thus, students are educated by our highly-skilled professionals, who are ready to assist them in any way possible. We aim to prepare competent and fully developed specialists, to whom the knowledge of technology opens the world.

Students in the discipline of “Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies” acquire knowledge:

  • fundamental engineering sciences – mathematics, physics, hydrodynamics, heating, computer technology and programming, the modeling process by using computers;
  • professionally-oriented science – the theory of automatic control, metrology, the measurement technologies and instruments, automation engineering, the architecture of computer systems and networks;
  • sciences related to the automation of processes – the automation systems design, the automated process control systems;
  • modern methods of building automation systems – the computer integrated technology, the real-time systems programming, WEB – design and computer graphics.

Department of Engineering and Software

The Department trains Bachelors and Masters in the field 121 “Software Engineering”.

Educational terms:

  • Bachelor – 4 years
  • Master – 1,5 years

The educational program is one of the most relevant on the IT labor market. It prepares programmers, whose average salary is 1500-2000 USD. Experts in software engineering are upscale developers of software for computer systems and telecommunication networks. Graduates work as technicians of system administration; engineers of computer systems; applied system programmers; operating and application software analysts, and many more possibilities exist.

Our university offers the opportunity to study the entire life cycle of the software project development, combined with a scientific approach and a serious research base, and our studies also incluse a history of use and adaptation.

Department of Intelligent and Information systems

The history of Department began in September 1997, when it became the Department of Computer Technology. Over the past five years, the Department obtained a license for Bachelors in “Computer Science” and “System Analysis” and was also licensed for graduation in specialty “Systems and Methods of Decision-Making” and “Artificial Intelligence”.

The Departments aim is to improve the quality of the disciplines that are being so that the policies of the university are promoted, ultimately in an effort to attract qualified full-time professionals and ensure superior student education.

Thanking the Ph.D., Professor and the Honored inventor of Ukraine – Kondratenko, the level of scientific and pedagogical development of the Department has significantly increased. This esteemed level of education provides specialized disciplines such as “Decision Theory,” “Intelligent Software Systems,” and “Theory of Fuzzy Sets,” while producing high-quality training materials, and conducting scientific the work of undergraduate and graduate students.

Much attention is paid to the assimilation of the advanced software packages and related computer technologies by teachers. The Department manages the laboratories of information systems, databases, and system software, which all work to improve the educational process. Lab work is focused on the study and improvement of such software systems as MATLAB, LabView and MultiSim, MS SQL Server 2010, MS Visual Studio, IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, «1C: Enterprise” object-oriented DBMS Caché, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk AutoCAD MAP 3D, Autodesk Inventor, SPSS, Java programming languages, C++, C#, CASE-tools for modeling business processes of BPwin, Erwin, and ARIS Toolset.

Department of Computer Engineering

Specialty “Computer engineering“:

  • Bachelor – 4 years
  • Master – 1,5 years
  • Ph.D. – 4 years

Experts in computer engineering develop hardware and software and also generate compatible hardware and software for computer and telecommunication systems and networks.

Computer engineers are involved in all aspects of their field such as the design of individual microprocessors, chips, computers and supercomputers.

Generally, the tasks related to computer engineering include writing software and firmware for embedded microcontrollers; designing large scale integrated circuits, analogy sensors, and the mixed-signal circuits; and developing operation systems. Also, specialists are working on the research for robotics, which is based on the use of digital systems to control and monitor electrical systems like motors, communications systems, sensors, and so on.

Experts in computer engineering perform the following tasks:

  • development of application and system software
  • development of software for the embedded computer systems
  • a design of the microprocessor and microcontroller devices
  • development of the analogy and hybrid cards
  • conduct research to robotics – the synthesis of motor control, sensors and other equipment
  • design, installation, and maintenance of computer networks
  •  development of operating systems and another system software.
