Field of Study: 035 Philology (Translation)
Qualification granted: Bachelor in Philology
The Bachelor program includes the study of basic philosophical theories and concepts in the field of humanitarian and socio-economic sciences. Students master the modern scientific methods of the philological research. They also learn the essence of language as a social phenomenon and its fundamental relationship with the world; the basic units of language and speech; the functional qualities of the language, especially, country studies; the core categories and types of translation; the features of translation; the features of business communication and record keeping. Using the methods of the humanitarian and socio-economic sciences, bachelor studies, in particular, to evaluate and to approach controversial issues of contemporary social reality with the creativity; to use computer technology in their professional activities, and four kinds of speech activity on the basis of a sufficient stock of knowledge on phonetics, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation and country studies; to translate, review and annotate different genres of texts in the state and foreign languages; to apply interlingual equivalents (cliché); to consider system of interlingual differences in the practice of translation; to use reference books, polytypic dictionaries, electronic databases in the practice of translation; to be able to use creative approach for translation process in different situations.

Qualification granted: Bachelor’s degree in «Philology», teacher of English and German languages and Foreign Literature at the secondary school and preschool.
The Bachelor in Philology receives fundamental knowledge in chosen sphere; deep knowledge of two foreign languages (English and German); understanding of the scientific-research work logics and the methodology conduction in field of philological and the pedagogical sciences; the ethical and law norms knowledge, which control relations among people, person’s attitude to the environmental surrounding; understanding of the basic world-view theories and conceptions in field of the humanitarian and social-economics sciences.
Students research the language essence as social phenomenon, its connection with critical thinking, culture and public nation development; the fundamental connection of language and world; the language origin and development, as well as its levels. Bachelors master knowledge of the basic language units and speech. Besides, they learn the person’s forming conditions, nature of psychology, basic psychological functions and their physiological mechanisms. Graduates of Bachelor’s program use conceptual knowledge from the humanitarian and social sciences in teacher’s and scientific-research activity; use modern informational technologies in professional activity; own modern scientific methods of the linguistic and literary researches.

Field of Study: 6.020301 Journalism
Qualification granted: Bachelor in Journalism
The Bachelor in Journalism receives training on subjects of the humanitarian and socio-economic, the fundamental and natural-scientific, the professional and practical training. Students are prepared for work in different spheres of media: newspapers, magazines, publishing, television, radio, advertising agencies, press services, printing industry, lyceum schools, gymnasiums, colleges, the postsecondary institutions, universities, institutes, and—accordingly to vocational training—in commercial structures of the national and international specialization, appropriate cultural institutions, and establishments. The Bachelor in Journalism is also an expert in Media and Communications.

Ukrainian Philology
Educational Field 035 Philology (Ukrainian)
Qualification that is assigned: Philologist, the Teacher of Ukrainian Language and Literature and Foreign language (English) – in secondary schools.
The Bachelor in Ukrainian Philology is able to command Ukrainian language (in compliance with all phonetic, lexical-grammatical, stylistic and pragmalinguistic rules) in different communicative situations freely and correctly. Graduates from the Faculty know and properly use English language; explore scientific literature; analyze the state of affairs in the field of the specialty; to apply the methods of teaching Ukrainian language and literature, foreign languages in their professional activities; independently plan and carry out certain researches related to the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian literature; to have knowledge of the concepts of the Humanities and social Sciences. Graduates are able to use philological knowledge in the process of teaching the Ukrainian language and literature, in the different types of secondary schools, and update the content of education; to perform different types of individualization of learning the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian literature as well as foreign language.
