The Department of Economic Theory and International Economics operates as a separate department of faculty since 2000. Since its foundation until just recently, the Head of the Department was A.Ya.Kazaryezov. The department is the first which has to meet first-year students of the Faculty of Economics. However, throughout all of the years, the department keeps the unique spirit of university and remains true to the special traditions established in the early years of the university.
This department embodies training programs focused on the problems of theory, methodology and management practices in the areas of financial management, insurance and banking, aimed at development of advanced understanding of financial relations in modern society, and obtaining practical skills in financial management.
The department was established in 2012 to provide professional English training for students of Economic Science Faculty. The main task of the department is not only the quality teaching of professional English for future economists but also to provide other training courses in English (Psychology, University Education, Sociology, Management, etc.).
Experts in accounting and auditing are needed in all sectors of the economy and administrative activities, as they provide accounting and analytical work, control over the formation, as well as use of financial resources. For specialty, “Accounting and Auditing” and other economic specialties, a curriculum is offered for an increased amount of hours learning a foreign language (English) and second language (optional – Polish, Bulgarian, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese).

Over the years the department and its employees have worked with over 20 textbooks. The department has 2 doctors of economic sciences, professor of land management, 2 PhD, associate professors, 1 senior teacher and 1 teacher. The department regularly trains in leading universities in Ukraine and abroad. The department trains bachelors with a specialty “Surveying and Land Management.”
