Department of Combat and Strength Sports

Department of Combat and Strength Sports was founded on September 1, 2015 as a part of Faculty of Physical Education and Sport.

The department provides students with modern knowledge of the teaching technology of the chosen kind of sport, gives them the methodology and main principles of organization of the training process and arrangement of the various competitions.

Students have the opportunity to get deep knowledge, learn different comprehensive and professional oriented subjects, become highly qualified PE teachers and coaches.

Staff of the Department:

Yurii Anatoliiovych Radchenko has PhD in Physical Education and Sport, speciality 24.00.01 – “Olympic and Professional Sport”. He has defended his thesis “Control of Technical Training of Wrestlers of Greco-Roman Style Paying Attention to Their Physical Features”. Master of Sport of Ukraine in freestyle wrestling, 2012, Honored coach of Ukraine in close combat, a director of Close combat Ukrainian federation, International Judge.

Yurii Arkadiiovych Briskin − Doctor of Physical Education and Sport, specialty 24.00.01. – “Olympic and Professional Sport”. In 2007 defended his thesis “Theoretical and Methodological Foundations of Sport for Disabled People as a Part of the International Olympic Movement”. A member of the council of experts specialized in MES theses; a participant of Higher Education Standard development working groups in Ukraine. Yurii Arkadiiovych Briskin is also a head of research topic; a chief editor of the scientific journal “Physical Activity, Health and Sport”; member of the editorial board of scientific professional publications of Ukraine.

Heorhii Valeriiovych Korobeinikov – Doctor of Sciences (Biology, 2001), Professor. Corresponding Member of the UAS (2004); department of humanities. Member of the international scientific community of studying stress and anxiety (STAR, 1996); National Representative of Ukraine in the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS, 1995); Member of the National Scientific Society of Ukrainian Physiologists and the National Scientific Community of Gerontologists and Geriatricians of Ukraine. Pilot studies Participant of the program of international cooperation of Aging European studies (European survey on ageing protocol, 1998); has participated in the development and testing of legal act of Ukraine (Ministry of Health of Ukraine from 22.03.96 N 59 “About approval limits lifting and moving heavy objects by minors”). The main directions of creative activity: psychophysiological and psychological diagnosis of athletes, sports psychophysiology, gerontology, physiology, cognitive psychology, preventive medicine, biological cybernetics. The author (co-author) of more than 200 scientific works, co-author of 5 patents. Interests: philosophy, theology.

Oleksandr Vasylovych Minenko – a senior lecture, Honored coach of Ukraine in close combat. Alexander V. Minenko – Associate Professor (b.v.z.), honored coach of Ukraine in close combat. Vice President of the Federation of Mykolayiv region in close combat. Judge of national category.

Ivan Olehovych Chaban − Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, a teacher, a trainer of the highest category in athletics.

Oleh Vasylovych Dubachynskyi – a teacher of Department of Combat and Strength Sports.

Kateryna Serhiivna Savushchyk – a leading expert of Department of Combat and Strength Sports.
